Symmetry CAE Collective

- Exhibitions

Symmetry - A sense of harmonious and beautiful proportion and balance.

This exhibition showcases a group of artists who met through tertiary education, and for these older graduates, the Symmetry exhibition is the realisation of their love of learning and creative collaboration and a substantial demonstration of their continuing experience.

After sharing skills, knowledge and experience, Symmetry exhibition brings together the results of their vastly different creative journeys and each contributor’s rich and diverse life experiences to the exhibition in a variety of mediums including oil and acrylic on canvas and wood panel, woven sculptures and bespoke brushes, handmade artists’ books, linocut and woodcut prints and other works on paper.

Despite their diverse histories, the Symmetry exhibition artists are connected by their love of making art and learning. They are also connected by being part of the adult learning community they have made at the Council of Adult Education, or CAE. It is this connection that brings them together in June 2023, to share and show their love of making art, individually and collectively.
