Access Spaces: Garden Studio
The Garden Studio at Gasworks Arts Park is a versatile space suitable for various purposes such as classes, meetings, rehearsals, and small parties. It can accommodate up to 30 people comfortably and is commonly used for theatre rehearsals, auditions, exercise and drama classes, meetings, mothers' groups, playgroups, and more.
Situated with a view overlooking Gasworks Park, the Garden Studio offers a pleasant and inspiring environment. The space is equipped with loose chairs, trestle tables, heating, and running water. Additionally, guests have access to public toilet facilities for convenience.
Located on the Pickle Street side of the park, the paths consist of gravel or dirt with gentle gradients. There is also a blue stone paved area directly outside the entrance, and the park itself is covered in grass, adding to the natural ambiance of the location.
The Garden Studio is available for hire from 7 am to 11 pm, seven days a week, not available public holidays. The rates for booking the space are as follows:
- Hourly rate: $35
- Full Day (8 hours): $250 (including GST)
- Half Day (4 hours): $130 (including GST)
Gasworks Members can enjoy discounted rates, so it is recommended to inquire about membership options if applicable.
FAQs:
1. Size of the room: The Garden Studio measures 8 meters by 6 meters, providing ample space for various activities.
2. Cost: The room fee is $35 per hour, and a $100 refundable room bond is required. We have a half day rate of $130 (4 hours) and fulll day rate of $250 (8 hours). Your setup and pack up time need to included in your hire time.
3. Flooring: The room features laminate flooring, which is both practical and easy to maintain.
4. Inclusions: The Garden Studio comes with 3 trestle tables, 20 chairs, a sink with cold running water, heating, lighting, fans, mop, broom, and a first aid kit.
5. Decorations and Catering: You are welcome to decorate the space to suit your event. However, please ensure that all decorations are removed at the end of your hire, leaving the room in the same condition as you found it. You are more than welcome to arrange catering with an oustide. Please note we do not have facilities for heating and cooling food.
6. Confimration of Booking: Your booking is confirmed once a signed contract is returned, payment paid in full. You will be then sent the access code for the space, with written confirmation.
7. Alcohol policy: Alcohol consumption is not permitted in the Garden Studio.
8. Bathroom facilities: The Garden Studio does not have its own bathroom. However, there are public bathrooms managed by the City of Port Phillip next door for the convenience of guests.

10. Public Liability Insurance: If you are inviting general public or a large invitation list to an event held within the Access Spaces, as opposed to a private event with family and friends, you should arrange public liability insurance.
11. Park and BBQ Bookings: Gasworks Arts Park only take bookings for any of our internal spaces. If you require an exclusive space within the park, you will need to contact the City of Port Phillip on 9209 6777 to arrange a permit.
