Gasworks' programs rely heavily on wonderful volunteers who donate their time to have fun, gain experience and work on great community events. 

Regular Volunteers and Student Placements

Placements are available for people looking to contribute to a positive, fun office and to gain experience in arts administration, event coordination, production, marketing, education and visual arts.  Shorter term placements can be negotiated to assist the fulfillment of tertiary course requirements for students.

Festivals and Events

Events at Gasworks could not run without the assistance of our wonderful volunteers, and our busy schedule of events throughout the year require volunteers to undertake a wide variety of roles. We have a list of volunteers who help out on one or two days a year at a major event.  If you would like to be added, please contact us.

Here are some areas in particular which we've identified as requiring volunteers:

• Farmers' Markets

Every month, we require volunteers to help us run out barbeque and information stall.  It's a great way to get involved in a fantastic community event.  The barbeque is very busy and we need volunteers to help prepare, cook and serve, and some positions also involve money handling.

• Visual Arts Exhibitions

Gasworks has three gallery spaces, and we are seeking volunteers to help hang and sit exhibitions in the gallery, as well as offering opportunities to develop skills in programming and mounting exhibitions. Please contact us directly to discuss your needs and how we can work with you.
