The big news for the Gasworks Farmers Market this Saturday is the return of the Smiths Fruit family, from Taminick near Wangaratta with their fabulous fresh cherries. Also at the market you’ll find local garlic is getting back to pace, globe artichokes are excellent, broad beans are in full swing and, of course, asparagus is at its best.

See you at the Gasworks Farmers Market on Saturday 15 November and you can be sure you are supporting Victorian farmers direct.

The Farmers Market Philosophy

Farmers’ markets reflect the true seasons of local fresh food and reconnect the two ends of the food chain; producer meets consumer direct. There is a simple philosophy at the market; that the goods are grown, made and known by those who sell them and that the quality of produce is of the utmost importance. From across Victoria, stallholders bring you a slice of rural life and create a unique and very personal shopping expedition.

The market is plastic bag free and all packaging is as environmental responsible as possible so bring your own trolleys or baskets and re-use your own bags.
