Gasworks Arts Park Presents

The Crow Family

Nobody saw this happen so it may or may not be true. A woman lives in the middle of a city, next to a tree that smells of lemons. In this tree lives a family of crows, but their home is threatened by developers. One day a baby crow falls from the nest. As night falls, the neighbourhood cats move in for the kill. The woman intervenes and her encounter with the crow family transforms her life.

Join Maude Davey and her real-life family in this urban parable that brings traditional storytelling to the stage. Inspired by the golden age of vaudeville entertainment, the Pidd Davey family sing, tell stories, play instruments, and even bake cake live on stage! The Crow Family is a completely new and original musical theatre show, featuring music from Australian rock legend, Peter Farnan (Boom Crash Opera).

The Crow Family pays homage to the traveling storyteller, brought back to life by Maude Davey and her partner David Pidd and their children, Alice (17) and Leo (10), in this captivating new show about remarkable creatures, our relationship to the living creatures all around us and what truly makes us human.

The Crow Family will appeal to families of children aged 11 and over, lovers of music and fans of new stories with original scores.

Ensemble Maude Davey, David Pidd, Alice Pidd Davey, Leo Pidd
