The Best and Fairest – Celebration
Exciting young footballer Courtney Ugle (Essendon VFLW) has overcome trauma and loss to become a powerful voice for indigenous women. Champion netballer Kelsey Browne (Magpies, Diamonds) won’t let a season-ending injury stop her from returning to the game she loves. Bodybuilder Bridget Bailey McGlade (IFBB Pro Bikini) wants society to know that ‘women with muscles’ have it all! And no one has challenged societal views on what it means to be a Woman in Sport more than transgender athlete Hannah Mouncey (Handball), whose story of determination against the odds is inspirational.
Enjoy some great moments and messages from four of our Best and Fairest sportswomen when they come together on stage for this Celebration, a special event for International Women’s Day.
Melbourne Writers’ Theatre are developing their new show The Best and Fairest as Gasworks’ 2020 company-in-residence. They will have access to Gasworks rehearsal spaces & technical/administrative support and the show will premiere in July.
