Gasworks Farmers Market

COVID-19 UPDATE: 15/04/2020

As a food market Gasworks Farmers Market is considered an essential service in current DHHS Covid-19 guidelines. We will still be running our regular market this Saturday 18th April but with a few changes to ensure the health and wellbeing of all of our customers, stall holders and Gasworks staff.

We ask that all visitors to the market on Saturday adhere to these changes in procedure so that we can continue to safely provide this essential service to our community.

Entrances and Exits:
As we are now required to operate with a fixed capacity you may be asked to wait before entering, we appreciate your patience and cooperation with our staff’s directions. To ensure we can control the number of visitors in the market and provide enough space for social distancing we will be limiting the number of entry and exit points to the market. You will not be able to enter or exit the market from the back of the park via Richardson Street. All visitors to the market must enter via Graham Street next to the Priscilla Jones Café, the two additional Graham street access points either side of this entrance will be used as exits only.

Social Distancing Markers:
There will be markers on the ground in front of stalls and at the Graham Street entrance to mark out 1.5m, please ensure to give other shoppers and stall holders appropriate space when queuing at a stall or moving through the market.

Social Gathering:
We encourage all visitors to shop efficiently, and to not spend any more time in the market than required to complete their shopping. We also recommend that only one person per household attends the market.

Cashless payments:
The entire market will be cashless, there will be no ATM on site and no cash accepted at any of the stalls.

Additional handwashing stations:
Handwashing facilities are available in the park toilet block, the toilets inside the Gasworks building and from 2 additional handwashing stations which will be set up in the market. Visitors are encouraged to wash their hands frequently and implement good respiratory hygiene.

We appreciate your continued support for Gasworks market and your cooperation in the implementation of these additional measures.

Deep coloured, ripe and delicious fruit and vegetables, aromatic hand-made cakes and jams, freshly laid free range eggs and just cut flowers are only a few of the sumptuous goods you’ll find at our monthly Gasworks Farmers’ Market, held on the third Saturday of each month. .
You will love spending Saturday mornings on the grass soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and sampling the very best of local Victorian produce, direct from Victorian farmers and specialty makers.

Gasworks Farmers’ Market is proudly accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association (VFMA) and our market received the Outstanding Farmers’ Market Award at the 2012 delicious. Produce Awards.

The Gasworks Resident Artist Studios are also open during the Farmers Market, so make sure you pop in and say hello!

THE FARMERS MARKET PHILOSOPHY
Accredited farmers’ markets reflect the true seasons of local fresh food and reconnect the two ends of the food chain; producer meets consumer direct. There is a simple philosophy at the market; that the goods are grown, made and known by those who sell them and that the quality of produce is of the utmost importance. From across Victoria, stallholders bring you a slice of rural life and create a unique and very personal shopping expedition.
