Brett Ashby

Energy is contemporary, experimental and performance art from international artist Brett Ashby. The artist takes his painting studio to the theatre, with four prominent Australians as his subjects. The on-stage happenings and musical resonance will vibrate your skin, as Brett creates spontaneous energy representations, from spirit to form through the universe. Subjects Lisa Edwards 12th, Cash Savage 13th, Sarah McLeod 3:30pm and Mick Harvey 7pm, 14th, will be painted on canvas, whilst the artist rides a skateboard on ramps. The art focuses on the exchange of energy, art and power through physical whole body movement. This will be a sonic and visual representation of the subjects’ consciousness.

Sound musicians using the handpan drum and harmonic overtone singing will accompany Brett in his performance. All this combined with the atmospherical sound of the skateboard will create a unique accumulation of art and sound. The interwoven resonate soundscapes, lighting effects, and on-screen visual displays generate a flow between body and soul.

Balance is a fundamental aspect to this performance, when you feel balanced you move with harmony and grace. Energy is a unique radiance of light between artist, audience and his subject. Focus Your Energy.

The four subjects for Energy are:
Lisa Edwards 12th, 7pm
Cash Savage 13th, 7pm
Sarah McLeod 14th 3.30pm
Mick Harvey 14th 7pm

Art by Brett Ashby soundscapes by Felix Ezrael and Dan Byrne.
