Creation & Destruction: playing with paradoxes through sculpture

Artist Georgie Seccull is the two-time winner of the Gasworks’ From Nature Organic Sculpture Exhibition People’s Choice Award. In the 2018 exhibition her remarkable dynamic sculpture of an owl descending to land, certainly caught the public imagination.

Georgie employs diverse materials from found objects to scavenged relics from nature, to conjure up an almost mythical sculptural world. In this masterclass, Georgie will introduce you to her process and share some of her creative techniques that enable her to transform heavy raw materials into ethereal sculptures.

This session is part of Inside Art and Architecture: A series of monthly talks to offer an engaging introduction to the often-hidden processes and worlds behind our built environment and artistic practice. Expand your knowledge of local architectural landmarks, explore sculptural creativity and engage in thought-provoking dialogue.
