Books Illustrated is a Children's Literature Centre housed in the two-storey Gasworks Gatehouse building since 1993. Upstairs is a gallery dedicated to book illustration, and Ann James’ illustration studio. On the ground floor is a specialist children's bookshop. Education programs are run for students of all ages, and illustration workshops are held for both children and adults. Exhibitions, events and activities run all year round.
