Gasworks Arts Park a place of art, ideas and events, where people meet, explore and create.
To create a common thread and unify what we are doing and may wish to do the Gasworks staff and board have undertaken a review of all levels of its operations beginning with a focus on its artistic policy. We have done this to make clear the aspiration that underlies arts programming at Gasworks and create a framework on which to build consistency and quality in both process and product.
The arts policy works within the context of the present mission statement of the park:
Mission:
To create a stimulating, supportive and sustainable environment in which the arts can flourish and engage the community.
Vision:
To be a place where new ways of encountering art can be explored, and the interplay between a public park, its facilities and the experience of the arts can be investigated .
The achievement of aims in four key areas is critical to the realisation of this mission.
To foster the creation of art, and explore the occasions within which it is experienced through a comprehensive multi-art form program, incorporating:

Collaboration with established artists, arts companies, cultural festivals and Gasworks’ resident visual artists
Developmental work within and across the fields of drama, music, dance, visual arts and disability arts
A high-quality children’s program
