Looking for a way to become involved in the arts sector? Gasworks Arts Park are currently seeking Front of House Volunteer Assistants!
Position: Front of House Volunteer Assistants
Organisation: Gasworks Arts Park
Gasworks Arts Park is a vibrant arts precinct producing a range of enticing arts programs, workshops and activities for every age, ability and interest. The precinct houses four hectares of park, two theatres, three gallery spaces, a café, as well as function and workshop spaces. Gasworks has sixteen resident visual artists and a small but dedicated staff team who present an annual program of festivals and events including seasons with some of Melbourne’s largest arts festivals.
Gasworks is currently seeking volunteer Front of House (FOH) Assistants to help out with the many events programmed across our venues. These positions are an exciting way to become involved in the arts sector and gain direct exposure to original Australian contemporary performance works as well as Festivals and large scale events. All FOH volunteer Assistants will report to the Ticketing and Hospitality Manager.
FOH Volunteer Assistants will have positions of great responsibly, but also great fun! The FOH team is the first (and sometimes only) point of contact that our patrons encounter so it is imperative that they are always immaculately presented, friendly and as helpful as possible. Great customer service skills are a must! The FOH Team organise the general public by assisting them finding venues, bars and facilities. They are responsible for organising queues and facilitating the flow of public to and from venues whilst liaising with venue crew and management.
FOH Volunteer Assistants need to be confident, assertive and have fabulous communication skills! Performances must start on time and FOH play an important role in this. FOH act as traffic wardens, ushers, ticket checkers, mobile information booth and an ambassador for Gasworks Arts Park: promoting in-house shows and products available. It is essential that assistants can work demanding shifts and still remain helpful with a big smile!
Please note this is not a paid position.
