Publicist

Job Title: Publicisit

Position Type: Ongoing, part-time position at 0.5 EFT (2.5 days full-time). Some after hours work is required in connection to events and exhibitions.

Salary details: $52,000 pro rata, plus superannuation

Are you a highly motivated and skilled Publicist with a love and flair for the Arts?

Gasworks Arts Park is seeking to appoint a talented Publicist to join our fabulous Marketing team. The primary focus of this role is to maximise coverage of and engagement with Gasworks events and activities by devising and implementing strategic publicity and media campaigns for Gasworks’ diverse annual program of events, spanning performing arts, exhibitions, live music, festivals and more.

The position reports to the Marketing and Development Manager and actively collaborates and liaises with a range of internal and external stakeholders to increase the profile, patronage, audience reach and community support for Gasworks.

This is a great opportunity for an exceptional Publicist to join a small team of committed arts professionals and you will be managing a diverse range of campaigns from start to finish. You will have a fantastic eye for detail and a proven track record in achieving editorial results in an arts or entertainment setting. Flexibility, teamwork and a collaborative approach are highly valued.

Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator

Job Title: Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator

Position Type: Ongoing, part-time position at 0.4 EFT (2 days full-time). Hours can be worked across 2, 3 or 4 days. Some after hours work is required in connection to events and exhibitions.

Salary details: $52,000 pro rata, plus superannuation

Gasworks Arts Park is seeking to appoint a Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator to join the team. The primary focus of this role is to grow the revenue derived from philanthropic trusts and foundations, government bodies, corporate sponsors and partners, and private donors, through positive ongoing relationships.

The position reports to the Marketing and Development Manager and actively collaborates and liaises with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Front of House Volunteer Assistants

Gasworks Arts Park has volunteer front of house assistant positions available to help with the Midsumma Festival and our Backyard Cinema events. These positions are an exciting way to become involved in original Australian contemporary performance works as well as Festivals and large scale events.

Gasworks Arts Park is a vibrant arts precinct producing a range of enticing arts programs, workshops and activities for every age, ability and interest. The precinct houses four hectares of park, two theatres, three gallery spaces, a café, as well as function and workshop spaces. Gasworks has sixteen resident visual artists and a small but dedicated staff team who present an annual program of festivals and events including seasons with some of Melbourne’s largest arts festivals.

Gasworks is currently seeking volunteer Front of House (FOH) Assistants to help out with the many events programmed across our venues. These positions are an exciting way to become involved in the arts sector and gain direct exposure to original Australian contemporary performance works as well as Festivals and large scale events. All FOH volunteer Assistants will report to the Ticketing and Hospitality Manager.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

FOH Volunteer Assistants will have positions of great responsibly, but also great fun! The FOH team is the first (and sometimes only) point of contact that our patrons encounter so it is imperative that they are always immaculately presented, friendly and as helpful as possible. Great customer service skills are a must! The FOH Team organise the general public by assisting them finding venues, bars and facilities. They are responsible for organising queues and facilitating the flow of public to and from venues whilst liaising with venue crew and management.

FOH Volunteer Assistants need to be confident, assertive and have fabulous communication skills! Performances must start on time and FOH play an important role in this. FOH act as traffic wardens, ushers, ticket checkers, mobile information booth and an ambassador for Gasworks Arts Park: promoting in-house shows and products available. It is essential that assistants can work demanding shifts and still remain helpful with a big smile!

Please note this is not a paid position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

This opportunity is appropriate for individuals who:

•    Have an interest/background in the performing arts
•    Are reliable and organised
•    Are energetic and feel confident working with members of the public
•    May have experience in hospitality or events
•    Are available weeknights and/or weekends, when there are events or shows on at Gasworks Arts Park
•    Are available for an induction and training
