John O'Shaghnessy has taken over as the new management at Gasworks Cafe in 2009. More information available soon.

Head Chef, David McCallum, has created a light seasonal menu emphasising fresh produce with a focus on breakfast and lunch.

The Gasworks Cafe also caters functions on and off premises ranging from intimate dinner parties to wedding receptions.

Gasworks Cafe is fully licensed and has an ever growing reasonably priced wine list.

About Head Chef, David McCallum...

"I have worked as a chef for over 19 years in various local and overseas establishments. My apprenticeship training included working with some of the best head chefs at restaurants such as Pieroni (South Yarra) and the Stokehouse (St Kilda). I continued to gain experience in various types of cooking styles at venues such as The Continental Café (Prahan), Seaworld Nara Resort (Gold Coast), Waterfront (Crown Casino) and DeBortoli in the Yarra Valley. I also spent some time overseas working in England.

My cooking style is fun and easy going. I have a passion for modern Australian style dishes with a splash of influence from around the world. I employ simple fresh flavours using only the best local and imported produce.
Every day I draw upon my knowledge and experience at fine dining, function/event dining and café style cooking to produce only the best in the dishes prepared."
